International speaker Philip Hockley, C.S. will speak on “A New View of God and its effect on well-being”
Join us Saturday evening, January 12th @ 7:00 p.m. to see the Effulgence Foundation film presentation of “The Dr. John Tutt Story.” The evening includes a prologue, epilogue and Q&A with the historian that accompanies the film. Questions? Please call the church office at 626-793-5151.
Mark McCurties will explain how God’s loving and saving power is the greatest agent for change, and that through a right understanding of God, His power can be seen and felt right here and now, bringing health and peace to the world. Mark McCurties is a Christian Science practitioner engaged in the public practice of spiritual healing.

The talk will focus on how Jewish women were treated in first-century Palestine, on Jesus’ mother Mary, and on the place of women in Jesus’ ministry. We will consider the question, “Who was Mary Magdalene?” We will look at the biblical examples of Jesus’ actions toward women, which are reflected in his teachings and healing work; and finally, we will take a brief look at womanhood’s contribution to the early Christian church.
Kristy L. Christian, M.A.R., is a class-taught Christian Scientist. She graduated from Principia College with a B.A. in History/Secondary Education. She received her M.A. in Religion, with highest honors, from Oklahoma City University’s School of Religion. Ms. Christian is President of Biblos Foundation and has given Bible talks and workshops throughout the United States, Canada, India, and England for the purpose of helping audiences learn how to study the Bible in its inspired meaning.

Suzanne Riedel explores how God helps us help our children. Hosted by our church, this talk is open to the public and all are welcome! Please join us on Sunday, February 24th, at 2:00 pm, in the Pasadena Christian Science church building.
Ms. Riedel will discuss ideas on recognizing God’s presence and care in bringing answers for our children’s welfare and practicing effective prayer that results in positive parental guidance.
Ms. Riedel is a national speaker who has proved these spiritual answers in her own life. A practitioner and teacher of Christian Science healing, Suzanne Riedel is a member of the Christian Science Board of Lectureship.
