Bring a Friend to Sunday School Day PDF
2011 was the four hundredth anniversary of the publication of the King James Bible, and to commemorate this milestone First Church of Christ Scientist, Pasadena, staged a Bible exhibit in the Pasadena public library. As the Bible exhibit for the Pasadena library took shape the Reading Room staff gave serious thought to what would be an appropriate way for the Reading Room to celebrate this anniversary. The result of these deliberations was an exhibit, which spotlights Mary Baker Eddy’s deep love for, and long term study of the Bible, and illustrates the interconnectedness of the King James Bible and the Christian Science textbook, Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures, by Mary Baker Eddy.
In the exhibit you will read of the “gracious preparation” Mrs. Eddy experienced, as “hunger[ing] and thirst[ing] after righteousness” she was led to the discovery of Christian Science. In the first five chapters of Science and Health, Mrs. Eddy leads the spiritual seeker through the preparation she herself experienced, and the exhibit shows how everything she learned and wrote about in these first five chapters, she learned from her study of the Bible.

Pipe Organs Inspire is a collaborative outreach and gift to the community by three Pasadena (California) churches:
Each of these congregations, within walking distance of each other in downtown Pasadena, possess arresting architecture, excellent pipe organs, and extraordinary resident organists—the perfect combination for a project such as this.
All three organists will perform on each recital, providing a unique opportunity to hear each both on their “home” organ and on two other excellent instruments. As the three organs represent very different approaches to organ building, the repertoire for each program has been carefully selected to maxmimze each instrument’s strengths.
Visit us here at PipeOrgansInspire.org for periodic updates as the project planning progresses, and be sure to mark your calendars right now for the three FREE festive 2012 program offerings:
